Family Internet Registration Successful

Thanks for registering.  I’m confident that you will be glad you did.

Before you come along to the workshop, I need you to do some homework.  I know… its sounds like a school assignment… but think of it as an insurance policy against internet intrusion.

At the workshop I will show you how you can recongifure your home router.  This sounds very technical… but its amazingly simple.  The most time consuming part is locating your router password!!

So first…

Homework Assignment One

You need to find your router password.  All routers have an administration login page.  In your internet bowser address bar (not the google search box) type in  In MOST cases this will take you directly to your router login page.  You will need to enter an username and password.  In MOST cases… the user name could be something like admin or something similar.

Next will be your password.  This is the tricky bit.  Chances are you installed your router ages ago and the password is a distant memory.  You are going to have to find it.

If you cannot find it, you may need to contact your internet provider.  I know… thats enought o make me shudder too.  You will have to jump through a few hoops to identify yourself and then make sure you have a pen and paper handy to write down your login information.

Once you have your login info test it and make sure you can login.

Homework Assignment 2

If you have mobile devices such as iPads, Tablets and phones that are connected to your home network… you need to have an itunes account for apple products and a Google account for android devices.  During the workshop I wll show you where you can install apps for your mobile devices.

Homework Assignment 3

Have a coffee!  You are nearly done.
